 Rules/Regulations

Welcome to The Tudors: Online. This is a forum for discussion on Tudor histories, books, films, television shows, and for roleplaying. We primarily associate ourselves with the Showtime series starring actors such as Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Natalie Dormer, and Henry Cavill (among others). Before you get started, please do look over all rules and regulations below. Though the Royalty (administrators) may not be as strict as you think, there are some things that must be kept in mind in order to maintain the peace that is this forum.

  • Please stay on topic in boards. For example, do not start a whole conversation about Henry Cavill in a thread about Mary Boleyn. Conversations revolving around Henry Cavill must stay in the Henry Cavill board in the "Tudors Show" category.
  • Be courteous. Rudeness isn't necessary. If you have an issue with another member, try to talk it out with them. If it comes to no end, contact a member of the Royalty (administrators). Do not put down others' beliefs or views, and do not expect to bully without consequence. We're here to have fun!
  • If you have not been approved as the official character of the forum, don't use the character's name as your own. Roleplaying will generally be set to the established characters on this website. For instance, I am the official Anne Boleyn of The Tudors: Online. If you would like to apply to be a canon character, please check the character application page. You do not need to be a character to join the forum. As we also discuss the show, non-roleplayers and fans alike may join.
  • If you want to play a claimed character, you may do so in a private roleplay thread. However, you are not permitted to claim an already taken character. Doing so will result in consequences.
  • You are entitled to one account on this forum. Creating any more will be considered spam. If you wish to play a different character (as yours may have died or is no longer playable), contact an administrator. Hate accounts will not be tolerated; if they are created, they will be banned.
That said... we do permit you to play up to TWO characters. If you wish to play a second character, contact an administrator so that we an approve the creation of a second account.
  • You MUST be thirteen years or older to register an account on The Tudors: Online. Those accounts belonging to anyone under the age of thirteen will be deleted and IPs banned. This is a Proboards requirement - no exceptions can be made.
  • Please keep your signature size to 600x300px overall in height, and your avatar/icon to 100x100 px. Your signature may consist of text alone, or images. But keep it to the size restrictions - this way, the screen will not be disrupted.
  • If you're sharing images, be sure to keep them at a presentable size. Keep in mind that not everyone is able to access the internet at high speeds. Do not make your picture so large that it does not fit. If anything, provide a thumbnail so that it can be linked to.
  • If you do not like a particular character, there is no need to slam the person playing the official forum character. This goes back to Rule 2. Again, we are all here to have fun. The person behind the character will not mind debating your ideas and receiving them. But do not insult them and expect to remain unscathed.
  • In your profile, there is a "money" section. You earn money with each point you get, or each time a person exalts you. Do not merely exalt someone without reason, or smite. Make sure you share why in the "karma" box :) otherwise, it could be taken as spam.
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY: HAVE FUN!

In character applications (both canons and non-canons are welcome), the phrase you are required to provide is: "I am merely his majesty's humble servant." (This is so we know you have read the rules.)

Remember, this is a forum dedicated to The Tudors, but there are places to go off-topic. There are members-only sections for those who do not feel comfortable sharing themselves elsewhere. The official forum characters will remain in-character, but are here to address all questions.

REMEMBER, the Royalty (administration) has the right to ban members at any time. We will not do this on an unfounded accusation... nor are we as strict as you might imagine. Things such as "double-posting" or "triple-posting" will result in just a simple courteous note asking to refrain from such behaviours, but they do not constitute a banning. If there are issues infringing on your privacy or personal life, contact an administrator. We are here to help.

Enjoy THE TUDORS: Online! If you have any questions, send me (Anne Boleyn) a private message, or ask at the Questions/Comments/Suggestions board.

Happy Hunting!

It is the 1500s, under the reign
of Henry VIII, Tudor King of England. Become a part of the most scandalous court in all the world, of all time. This is Tudor England.
And we are the Tudors.

Disclaimer: we are not affiliated with Showtime, Michael Hirst, or any of the actors or crewmembers associated with the award-winning television series, The Tudors. We are grateful that we as fans are allowed to operate in a way that is not official, but purely for fun.
